Doctor Arman Mashayekhi completed his medical and ophthalmology training at Pahlavi University of Medical Sciences (Shiraz, Iran), where he excelled academically. He performed a retina fellowship in 1992 at Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (Tehran, Iran) where he continued to practice for several years as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and served as a member of the editorial board of Bina Journal of Ophthalmology and was a co-member of the scientific committee of the Center for Eye Research.
During 2001-2002, Dr. Mashayekhi completed his fellowship in Ocular Oncology at Wills Eye Hospital. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Oncology Service working extensively in the field of ocular tumors.
He is an International Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the International Society of Ocular Oncology. Dr. Mashayekhi has written a textbook on retinal diseases. He is also certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Mashayeki has extensive interest in research, particularly in the management of ocular melanoma. He has led numerous research projects on treatment of melanoma and management of side effects of treatment. He continues to devote his time to explore better ways at diagnosis using fine needle biopsy and improved methods for treating melanoma or other cancers with radiotherapy, photodynamic therapy, or lasers.
